Spring 2024 Engagement Update:

In May and June 2024, The City asked residents for input related to Budget 2025. We wanted to understand what residents value most related to City services, while also understanding the financial priorities citizens have for our organization.

The spring phase of public participation related to Budget 2025 occurred from May 23 to June 28, 2024. Through our online and in-person opportunities, we connected with more than 400 residents who contributed their input. All input received has been reviewed and rolled up into a What We Heard Report.

What's Next:

We are considering public input alongside Council input and technical expertise to form administration's budget recommendation for Budget 2025. More public input opportunities will occur in September 2024, with budget deliberations scheduled for November 2024.

What is the budget?

The City of Red Deer’s budget covers all the essential services that our residents use each and every day. This includes everything from the roads you drive on, the street lights that come on at night, the recreation facilities we enjoy and emergency and municipal police to keep us safe and healthy.
