The Living in Red Deer Survey is designed to give residents a voice on a variety of topics. This includes everything from quality of life to feedback on City services and specific projects.

It’s an opportunity to gather insights that help guide decisions, improve services, and ensure the community’s voice is reflected in City planning.

This survey will offer a snapshot of how residents feel about living in the community and highlight their priorities. The final report will be delivered to the new Council and senior Administration as a key input in planning and decision-making.

One of the main benefits of this survey is that as it grows, it will allow small or lower-budget projects to benefit from public feedback, which may not be possible otherwise.

The Living in Red Deer Survey is planned to occur every two years, however, this may adjust as needs arise.

It will take place on alternating years with the Citizen Satisfaction Survey.

The Citizen Satisfaction Survey is developed and hosted through a third-party provider. Therefore, the costs to administer that survey encourage us to keep the questions more general. The Living in Red Deer Survey is crafted in-house, allowing us to be as detailed as necessary about current projects, initiatives and topics of interest.

Yes. A summary of the findings will be shared publicly after the data is analyzed and the final report is delivered to Council (by mid-November 2025).

Though the primary mechanism for participation is online through Engage Red Deer, there will be the opportunity to participate in paper form.

Printed copies will be placed at City Hall, Collicutt Centre, G.H. Dawe Community Centre, Recreation Centre and Michener Aquatic Centre so that respondents may pick up copies, complete them and return. Data will then be manually entered to be considered in evaluation.

The survey is open September 2 – 29, 2025 with a final report being delivered to new City Council by mid-November. A report to the community will be available by December, 2025.
