This winter, we made some changes to the snow plowing program, and emphasized mobility and accessibility on our roads and trails.
- We piloted 24/7 snow clearing operations throughout the city, introduced city-wide parking bans, and expanded sidewalk and trail clearing.
- In January, we removed snow from all residential Green Routes in Red Deer, in 5 days, which in years past took us more 15 days.
- With below average snowfall, and freeze/thaw cycles, Grey Routes were not plowed as mobility and accessibility were not negatively impacted.
